Our private obedience courses begin the formal training process for dogs four months of age to adult are Level 1, Level 2, Level 3.

All of our obedience courses are private family sessions that are custom designed for your dog and the individual needs of your family.

ALL family members participate in the hands on training sessions each week. Our experience has been that a greater success in training is achieved by all family members handling the family pet equally in private family sessions. It is crucial in the training of a family pet that each family member practice the techniques taught each week so that the dog respects all family members equally.

GROUP CLASS VS PRIVATE LESSONS?

At CRDogs our dog training courses are conducted as private family sessions. We have found over the years this to be a more successful way of training your dog when there are more than one family member.

Advantages of Private Lessons?

  • ALL family members participate equally in the training
  • ALL family members practice hands on training techniques at each session under the guidance of the instructor.
  • ALL family members individual personality types are identified and worked with in obtaining the best outcome in the training of your dog.
  • Your dog’s personality type will be identified and a consistent message is being delivered by all family members each week.
  • Because the lessons are private they can be moved around cancelled(24 hrs notice) to meet the demands of a busy family with work/school schedules and activities.
  • Dogs not familiar with your dog are introduced during the private sessions so that your dog is taught how to properly socialize with other dogs and act appropriately.
  • Identification of your dogs obedience and behavior problems as well as your individual family member’s needs are focused on each week.
  • Private family training of your dog can be completed in a shorter period of time as each course is custom designed to your dogs learning development and personality type.

Disadvantages of Group Classes?

  • Class sizes do not allow the instructor to assist you individually if you are having difficulty with your dog.
  • Most classes have inexperienced training assistants assisting the instructor .
  • Traditional group classes are scheduled each week and if your family commitments conflict with them you miss the class with no make up classes.
  • Only one family member is permitted to work the dog for consistency in the class from week to week so the other members sit in the audience to watch and learn.
  • If a family member other than the primary handler runs into difficulty between lessons during the week, there is no help for them on training night as the instructor only trains the primary handler each week.
  • If family members other than the primary handler are having difficulties applying the training techniques or behavour problems they watch each week then they are usually directed to costly private sessions on top of their group session.
  • In group classes each week if you are progressing with your dog without any problems and you are keeping up with the pace of the class then it is usually successful. But if early on in the group class your dog is not responding to the techniques or you are having problems understanding the methods you will soon be left behind and dropping out of the class is usually the result.

Select one of our obedience courses and we will ensure that you and your family will have a pleasant training experience with your dog and be totally satisfied.
