Search & Rescue Group Training
Search & Rescue
Training Workshop(Bronte Park)

Search and rescue training
can be very rewarding for both handler and dog.
The dog is required to use its nose to locate missing persons or
evidence such
as articles of clothing, property, etc. The dog is taught to locate
missing
persons by air scenting or tracking. The dog will also be required
to negotiate
obstacles in its work where training in agility will be required.
Conditioning for
uncomfortable situations such as rugged terrain, obstacles, and
various
transportation means, etc. will also be required in the training.
CR Dogs offers Search and Rescue Training
Seminars at Rens Pet Depot in
Aberfoyle, 2 Day workshops at Bronte Creek Provincial Park, and
Monthly
training days at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville.
The SAR Seminars include Tracking, Area
Searching, Article Searching,
Obedience, Building Search and Agility. No matter what level
your SAR K9 is at
the seminars will prove challenging and rewarding.
A certificate is awarded
upon successful completion of the seminar.
In the province of Ontario the
governing body of all search and rescue civilian
canine teams is Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association in
conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police.
Through these two
organizations, all SAR K9 that are utilized in the Province
of Ontario by all
Police Agencies are tested and certified in ground search as well
as the civilian
canine teams.
The standards and certification that we
use are based on the Ontario Provincial
Police Civilian Volunteer Search and Rescue Canine Handler
requirements and
