   Group Obedience Classes

REGISTRATION

   Register for the group classes by printing and faxing the Registration Form.

   Pre-Registration with payment is required before the Problem Solving Seminar. 
   All obedience class training equipment will be issued at the Problem Solving
   Seminar.


   OBEDIENCE AND PROBLEM SOLVING SEMINAR - 

    FREE for obedience class participants only.

  • Humans Only- Please leave your dogs at home for the seminar
  • Designed for owners of a new puppy as well as adolescent/adult dog.
  • Persons finding seminar beneficial: New puppy owners, adopted adult dog owners, vet technicians, animal rescue agency workers, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, etc.
  • Prevention of behaviour problems such as jumping up, housetraining, excessive barking, destructive chewing, biting, dog VS children aggression, dog VS dog aggression, food /object guarding, digging, crate training, etc.
  • Basic obedience (Sit, down, stand, come, stay, heel) techniques shown with rescue dogs demonstration.

    * Training manual and certificate included


    PUPPY CLASS (4 weeks)
    *Includes 2 hour Obedience & Problem Solving Seminar*

  • Designed for Puppies 10-16 weeks. Puppies are taught necessary social skills with humans as well as other dogs.
  • Positive motivation is used to train your puppy: Not bite your family, Come to you even when distracted, Ask to go outside to relieve itself on command, Not chew your things, Not be possessive of its toys or food bowl, Accept discipline from family members.

     Must have third set of inoculations
    *
Training Equipment (5’ lead, Training Collar, 30’ Safety Line, Food Pouch, & Training Manual) is included 
      free.-$75 value.

Obedience

    LEVEL I (6 weeks)
   *Includes 2 hour Obedience & Problem Solving Seminar*

  • Designed for dogs 4 months to adult.
  • This is the teaching phase of instruction where dogs are taught with a balance of positive motivation (Food/Praise) and correction, the obedience commands of Sit, Down, Stand, Come, Stay, Heel.
  • Behaviour problems such as jumping up, dog aggression, excessive barking, dominance towards family members, non-attention to handler, etc. are also worked on.

    AT THE END OF LEVEL ONE TRAINING (6 WEEKS) YOUR DOG WILL BE WALKING BY YOUR LEFT SIDE DOWN THE STREET IGNORING ALL DISTRACTIONS (Dogs, Other Animals, People, etc.) WITH A LOOSE
    LEAD.

Group Obedience Level 2

   LEVEL II (6 weeks)
   *Includes 2 hour Obedience & Problem Solving Seminar*

  • Pre-requisite Level I
  • This is the training phase of instruction where the dogs are now tested with their new knowledge of the commands Sit, Down, Stand, Come, Stay, Heel. Distance control in the stay positions is also expanded.
  • The food motivation is removed in this phase of training and replaced with a proper balance geared for each individual dog, of correction and praise. The dogs are put into more distracting situations in order that they may make mistakes so that they may learn how to perform correctly upon command.

         STARTING IN  LEVEL 2 YOUR DOG WILL DO ALL OF THE ABOVE  
          COMMANDS  WITHOUT FOOD REWARDS.  OUR UNIQUE TRAINING
          METHODS WILL HAVE YOUR DOG WORKING HAPPY BY YOUR SIDE
          BECAUSE IT RESPECTS YOU AS A PACK LEADER...........NOT
          BECAUSE YOU HAVE A FOOD REWARD TO LURE THEM INTO DOING
          IT......

Group Obedience

   LEVEL III (6weeks)
   *Includes 2 hour Obedience & Problem Solving Seminar*

  • Pre-requisite Level II
  • This the proofing phase of instruction where the dog is now tested in off leash control in Sit, Down, Stand, Come, Stay, Heel, in long distances and extended time.
  • A proper balance for each individual dog, of correction and praise is used to control  the dog while off lead.  Distractions are provided to test the dog in its correct performance of the commands.


     *Training equipment is included free. (Off Leash Training Tab, and Long Light Safety Line)


   CLASS REMINDERS

  • The first night of each session of classes is the Behaviour and Problem Solving Seminar so please remember to leave your dogs at home that night.
  • Two members of your family may attend the seminar only but the other nights of class the whole family may come and watch.
  • As we supply all the training equipment we need your dogs collar size. Measure the dogs around the neck and up as far as it will go and add 2 inches. Please include that measurement on the registration form.
  • Proof of inoculations is required to be shown on the seminar night or you do not start the course until shown.
  • The same person is to take the dog through the training course each week.  All other family members may assist in the training at home during the week.
  • Wear comfortable shoes (No high heels, dress shoes, or boots).
  • Always bring enough food rewards in a belt pouch to class each night. (eg.”Roll Over” meat brand)
  • Do not feed your dog before class as we need him/her hungry to perform the training properly.
  • Do not exercise your dog before class, as we want to see him/her at their peak energy level to do the work.
  • Do not let concerned neighbors, friends, strangers, etc. play trainer with your dog and give you wrong advice, we are here to give you the right advice!
  • Please relieve your dog before class in the designated grass area beside the entrance door to the training room. You are responsible to clean up after  your dog.
  • Bring your family members to class as they can watch from our spectator gallery to cheer you on!
  • No pictures or videotaping permitted during classes.
