Cinda and I first started with Dave Walker when she was only 8 months old and easily distracted. We went to Dave with the goal of training Cinda in the area of tracking and possibly search and rescue. Dave patiently began to train both Cinda and me explaining each and every step so that
we would have a solid foundation to work from.

At first it seemed that it would be impossible for us to ever learn how to actually follow a track
but Dave has an extremely good understanding of the animals and the process
that works best for each particular dog.

   Cinda went from tracking 30 foot tracks to 100 yard tracks in a period of
   6 to 8 weeks and received her level 1 tracking certificate. We stopped
   tracking for about 6 months because of personal family priorities but when I
   took Cinda out this July she tracked as though we never stopped at all.

   While we were learning the skills of tracking we decided it would be best for
   Cinda to have a better foundation of obedience training as well. We left Cinda
   with Dave three weeks for her level 1 and 2 obedience training. When we went
   to pick her up we found a dog that went from "I will do what I please" to a dog
   that really understood the commands and was eager to do them.

Come, sit, down, stand, stay and even heel are no problem with her anymore,
that makes going for walks or just sitting at home a much more enjoyable time.
