Benny Boyes

Benny, our 2 year old German Sheppard,
fills our life with joy and love.

But it hasn’t always been this way.

We got him right after the unexpected
loss of our loved Sam, another German
Sheppard, a very sweet and gentle dog.

Benny joined our family at 12 weeks old,
with lots of energy and attitude.

He caught us unguarded and soon became the ultimate “alpha dog” of our
family, causing all types of problems. As a puppy, so cute and playful, he
found his way to change the family dynamics, demanding whatever his little
heart desired. More than spoiled at this point, he started getting himself in
trouble frequently and showing aggressive behavior every time I would get
close to my husband.

   The worst was still to come when he
   unexpectedly tried to attack a little girl
   in the park. Nobody was hurt but we
   understood that it was time to take
   serious action. We were already
   struggling to control him in many
   different situations, it was
   uncomfortable, the family was becoming
   tired and disrupted and for a while we
   thought the only solution would be to
   find him a new home. We were already
   reading and searching everything we
   could find about problem dogs when my
   husband found Dave Walker’s web site
   and the solution to our problem.

   Benny has now successfully completed
   the two levels of basic obedience
   through private classes with Dave
   Walker.

   He is a totally different dog now. He has learned that we are the “alphas” and
   that he is part of the family pack. We learned how to become his leaders, the
   ones that will protect him, in a manner that he feels it is not his job to look
   after the family. He is calm and obedient, happier, capable of enjoying his
   routines and showing respect to all of us, including our daughter.

The classes with Dave were extremely
effective. His method consists of simple
steps that once followed lead to
amazing results. He is very
knowledgeable, firm yet gentle and his
good humor makes everything fun and
enjoyable. His professional approach
combined with his love for dogs provided
us with a secure path to train Benny.

He became a better dog, displaying his
beauty and intelligence in a positive way.

   This spring he will be starting the off leash training and will continue on the
   following levels as well. He is a very energetic dog that needs constant
   stimulation and challenges.

As dog lovers we thank Dave for helping us with Benny. For a while we
thought this wouldn’t be possible.
