Search & Rescue Level II
This level
will require the K-9 Team to search for the scent of a stranger in all
exercises and be required to:
Area
Search:
Search for
a concealed stranger in an area approximately 200 X 200 meters in
light bush.
Agility:
Negotiate
more challenging natural obstacles in the field as well as agility
course exercises of the Crawl, 4 Hurdles, Tunnel, A Frame, Broad
Jump, High
Jump, Cat Walk, 1 meter platform jump, etc.
Article Search:
Locate a thrown/hidden article of
clothing/ piece of property belonging to a
stranger.Aged 2 hours Area to be light brush and woods.
Obedience:
Off lead –
Left turns, Right turns, Fast pace, Slow pace, under distraction.
Sit, Down,
Stand by voice at 2 meters distance on lead.
Walking
Sit- 2 meters
Walking
Down – 2 meters
Walking
Stand –2 meters
Sit Stay
handler out of sight for 1 minute
Down Stay
handler out of sight for 3 minute
Stand Stay
handler out of sight for 1 minute.
Recall
from 10 meters front sit and finish.
Tracking:
Upon
completion of the test the
K-9 team will be able to
complete a 1000 meter track unknown to handler laid by a stranger in
urban/ suburban/rural terrain.
