Search & Rescue Level I
This
is the introduction course to Search and Rescue training. In the level
one
course the dog will be required upon completion to:
Area
Search
Locate
person concealed in an area 100 X 100 meter area with light bush.
Agility:
Negotiate natural obstacles in the field
as well as agility course exercises of the
Crawl, 4 Hurdles, Tunnel, A Frame, Broad Jump, High Jump, Cat Walk,
etc.
Article Search:
Locate
thrown/hidden articles of clothing and property of the handler
Aged at
least 1 hour.
Area to be
100 X 100 Meters light brush.
Obedience Training:
Heel Off
lead
Sit, Down
Stand at heel position.
Recall to
front sit and finish
Sit Stay
under distraction for 1 minute
Down Stay
under distraction 1 one minute
Stand Stay
under distraction for 1 minute
Retrieve a
thrown object 10 meters and return to handler
Tracking:
At the
completion of level 1 the dog will be able to:
Track its
owner for approximately 1000 meters
5 turns
Indicate 3
articles
At least 1
hour old
1 cross
track
10 meters
on varied surface (Gravel, dirt, etc.)
1 Road
crossing
A
certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the course.

6 months to Adult

from 9:00-4:00pm.
